Part 5 – Self Has to Go

Fact 1: I do not determine what is good for me. 

Fact 2: I am not identified by what I own. 

Fact 3: Emotional well-being and self-fulfillment are not the ultimate goal.

Fact 4: I do not determine morality.

Our Culture: “Life is about expressing yourself.”
Biblical Worldview: “Life is about glorifying God and loving others.”

“You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind…. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” -Matthew 22:37, 39 NLT

“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.” -Luke 9:23 NLT

“Give up your own way” Give up.

“Take up your cross.” Die to self

“Follow me.”  Apprentice under Jesus.
